Helping Canadians Better Track Skin Changes
An exciting partnership between Miiskin, a skin tracking digital health platform and app, and the Canadian Skin Cancer Foundation, is giving Canadians access to potentially life-saving technology that empowers patients to conduct regular skin checks, increasing the likelihood of early detection of skin cancer.
We’ve seen a distinct shift to telemedicine since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic – and rightly so – but are we utilizing it in the right way? At MAXhealth, we’ve looked closely at virtual visits and how to improve them. As a network of primary care medical centers in Florida, we’ve had much to think about while revamping our programs, including the average age of our patients, the percentage of patients with chronic diseases, and our patients’ existing knowledge of telemedicine.
With lockdown orders in place and a global health crisis ongoing, doctors and patients are now choosing to carry out their consultation process through telemedicine. The fear of being exposed and violating orders has left many people with no choice but to resort to this mode of doctor-patient interaction. The COVID-19 pandemic’s end is yet to be seen, but with people getting comfortable with telemedicine, many experts believe it will become the new norm.
